Feedback: WOW that's big!! Such a generous thing to bring to our school. Trying to get my senior students to appreciate the stories behind the art, not just the art itself. Very good and so relevant. Feedback: I love this so much I'm coming back at lunchtime. Big book of essays was so good especially for artist models. Great support material. Would love to see Artists who show in the trailer to come in and talk to the students while trailer is in school. Perhaps this could be suggested to the schools and let them try to organise it. - 8-15 June – Wellington College (hosting Wellington East Girls’ College 14-15 June). Newtown, Wellington.
Wellington College Visitors: 728
Wellington College Feedback: Although a city school who has access to galleries, visits are seldom because they disrupt other subjects. Having this on site made it easy. A number of students/teachers commented they had seen the Close Up interview. An amazing collection. Very impressed with the variety of art on display. Keen to see Silver collection.

There are some unique kids here. - 21-22 June – Scots College. Miramar, Wellington.

DP took issue on the word “Hermaphrodite” and wanted it removed but Art teacher explained the context. Just as many Year 7 and 8s are seeing this artwork. Visitors: 585
Feedback: It fitted very well into level 3, 2 and 1 programmes. Art history and junior art as well. Would like to have seen some photography and digital as well for the photography and design classes. Very useful, beautiful notebooks for all students that can be used later as a resource for them to refer to. The whole design of the promotional material was a useful resource for design students to look at. The opportunity for students to see original artworks in general by NZ artists. DVD very good too. Shane cotton, Gordon Walters, Michael Parakowhai all fit in with our level 1 programme. Request for a week next time as we have so many art students who only saw it for 10 minutes or not at all. Thank you so much for this wonderful opportunity. Visit too short. Can we come more often than 3 yearly? What a resource; so much easier than taking us to a gallery that doesn’t have the range on here. Need more time to sketch; ten minutes is just not long enough. The artworks were very interesting; however there weren’t that many mediums used i.e. Photography missing. I would have liked to see the silver truck because it is apparently more design related which would be more inspiring to me. Thank you. Deep freeze is amazing, how much paint did the artist use? Open season is beautiful. I loved the gallery, I wish it was open to the public during school time or even after school! Could spend my life in here. The paintings were really cool, but some photos would be great. Some more photography would be nice - 26-27 March – Saint Kentigern College, Pakuranga
Visitors: 646

Visitors: 127
Feedback: Awesome stuff, would like to see more of these art shows around Taupo. There is some very different and kind of creepy work, but exciting. It was wicked, and very interesting. The best art collection I’ve ever seen. This is so good to be able show students the real thing, The students can see the material up close, and not out of a book. They can see the medium, the strokes, the layers that you can’t see when you look at a book. Jane organised Reporoa College to visit trailer on one of the empty periods. Art teacher there is a friend and decided this was a must see. Jane really enjoyed RAR and had a great time bringing her students through, I think she got more out of this than anticipated. - 4-5 August – Taupo-nui-a-Tia College
Visitors: 263
Feedback: I enjoyed it. Inspiring for end of year portfolio work. The Art Roadshow is a good idea as art students do not get many opportunities like this at school. It is very inspiring and thought provoking. It’s great because I don’t get the time to visit art galleries. The Roadshow is a good idea because it inspires students taking art for their own work - 7 August – Tongariro School
Visitors: 290
Feedback: “The school has used the opportunity to show kids a different part of life. Considering most of these kids would never see this sort of thing during their school lives. ” By and large these students have been better behaved than a lot of other kids for other schools, its pretty good. Younger kids coming through the trailer are quite fun to watch. They have no pre ideas, They like or dislike a picture on what they see. One young lady informed us of a privacy issue with a painting, “Girl in a Blue Hat”. - 8 August – Taihape Area School
Visitors: 240
Feedback: Had whole school through, seniors down to little ones. The school made great use of the opportunity. Very small senior classes in this school great one on one time. As a whole the school enjoyed the experience - 11 August – Ruapehu College, Ohakune

Feedback: It was fun and I really enjoyed the experience to see some awesome artwork done by great people. It was worth the visit. I love the art, I could look at it for hours I have been to the Louvre and seen artist work from other countries but I am very pleased to have this opportunity to look at New Zealand artists’ work. I found it was very colourful and set out in a funky/cool way. It was an amazing experience. This gallery is a real great experience. It was so good to come and look at all the different paintings, what I loved was finding a piece of artwork that reminds me of how I like to paint. This gallery is awesome and I loved the whole experience. There are some fab works in here. - 13-14 August – Taumarunui High School
Visitors: 271
Feedback: Just really good New Zealand artworks. Good and nicely displayed artwork. Had adult night art class through in evening, they were really happy to get a chance to see some inspiration for their art class. I had a great time with these students. They looked at the art with a wide uncluttered attitude. - 15 August – Te Kuiti High School
Visitors: 187
Feedback: Thank you for coming to our school, this artwork is interesting and cool. It’s cool bringing paintings to schools that don’t really have a chance to get out and see interesting paintings. Ka pai. I usually find art galleries boring, but not this one. Most of the art was very interesting and they were very cool. Anne, the art teacher, was over the moon about the visit and got far more than expected from the visit. - 18 August – Waitara High School

Feedback: Great display with different varieties, Good quality of paintings. Some art is just plain, the artists should take drug tests. Really enjoyed the Roadshow, it is very inspiring thank you. The school has a roll of 1300, 500 of which are art students, all but one class got to see the art show in class time. The rest of the students came at lunch time. - 25-26 August – New Plymouth Girls’ High School

Feedback: Super collection. It was an interesting experience. It’s good to see some “Real Art”. Thanks for coming to our school. It was cool. This is the biggest, radist truck I’ve ever seen. I thought it was amazing to come and have a look as there are varieties of art which I haven’t even seen before. - 28-29 August – Spotswood College
Visitors: 247
Feedback: It was good to see a range of different styles of painting. Wicked to see work up close – beats seeing in books any day. HOD Art – Wonderful to see the REAL Art – see the texture and colour as it really is. Images in books can be deceptive and unclear, insufficient information. Artist Kelcy Taratoa was a student at Spotswood College. Exceptional Art Teacher here went into great detail with his students on the techniques used and had extensive knowledge of artists’ background/works. He was blown away by the exhibition and the range of artists and works included. He suggested that “You and Me” by Saskia Leek was placed too high for both children and adults to appreciate the layers and effects. He described this as an “intimate” painting and suggested it be swapped with “Delegates” by Garth Tapper, which is not an “intimate” painting. - 1-2 September – Francis Douglas Memorial College

Feedback: Excellent. Thanks for inspiration and for visiting a place like Kawerau. Helm Ruifrok’s – You should have a competition for how many heads in the painting. This trip has been a good visit and hope I have drawings that other people would be inspired by. Really cool. It has opened my eyes to other options of painting. Every artwork here I’d buy if I was rich. I am going to find out more about these well known artists via Google.
